Connect your domain.

Two records, about five minutes. You don't change nameservers, and your email keeps working exactly as it does today.

Please don't change your nameservers. Keep them wherever they are now.

Leave your MX records (email) alone. Only change the two records below. If you see records you don't recognise, leave them in place.

The two records

Add or edit these at the company where you manage your domain's DNS. That is usually where you bought the domain.

TypeHost / NameValue / Points toTTL
A@209.38.123.222Default (or 1 hour)
CNAMEwwwpageko.comDefault (or 1 hour)

If your provider won't allow a CNAME for www, add an A record for www pointing to 209.38.123.222 instead. Some providers ask you to leave the host blank instead of typing @.

Also remove any other A record for @ (it points to your old website), and any AAAA record for @. If "domain forwarding" or a "parked page" is switched on, turn it off.

Step by step

GoDaddy
  1. Sign in and open My Products, then Domains, then choose your domain.
  2. Open DNS (sometimes called Manage DNS).
  3. Find the A record with name @, click the pencil, set the value to 209.38.123.222 and save. Delete any second A record for @.
  4. Find the CNAME record named www, edit it to point to pageko.com and save. Add it if it isn't there.
  5. Under Forwarding, make sure domain forwarding is off.
Hostinger
  1. In hPanel, open Domains and choose your domain.
  2. Open DNS / Nameservers, then the DNS records tab.
  3. Edit (or delete and re-add) the A record for @ so it points to 209.38.123.222.
  4. Set the CNAME record for www to pageko.com.
  5. Leave the MX records as they are, even if you use Hostinger email.
Namecheap
  1. Open Domain List and click Manage next to your domain.
  2. Open the Advanced DNS tab.
  3. Under Host Records, set an A Record with host @ and value 209.38.123.222. Remove any "URL Redirect" or parking record for @.
  4. Add a CNAME Record with host www and value pageko.com.
  5. Don't change anything under Mail Settings.
BigRock
  1. Sign in, go to your domains list and choose your domain.
  2. Open DNS Management (or Manage DNS).
  3. On the A Records tab, edit the record for your domain (host left blank or @) to 209.38.123.222.
  4. On the CNAME Records tab, set www to pageko.com.
  5. Leave the MX Records tab as it is.
Cloudflare
  1. In the dashboard, choose your domain and open DNS, then Records.
  2. Edit the A record for @ to 209.38.123.222 and set Proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud).
  3. Edit or add a CNAME for www with target pageko.com, also DNS only.
  4. Your nameservers stay with Cloudflare. That's fine.
Any other provider
  1. Sign in where you manage the domain and look for DNS, DNS Management, Zone Editor or Advanced DNS.
  2. Set the two records from the table above. Leave everything else as it is.
  3. Not sure where your DNS lives? It may be at your old web host rather than where you bought the domain. Just tell us the company names, or send us a screenshot of the DNS page, and we'll tell you exactly what to click.

What happens next

DNS changes usually take 15 minutes to a few hours, and occasionally up to 48 hours. We check your domain, switch on HTTPS (the padlock) automatically, and email you as soon as your site is live. You don't need to buy an SSL certificate.

What about email?

We build and host your website. We don't host email, so whatever you use today keeps working as long as the MX records stay the same.

No email on your domain yet? Two good options:

Either one will ask you to add a few MX and TXT records of its own. Those don't clash with the two records above, so it's safe to add them. If you'd like a hand, email us and we'll walk you through it.
